This body of work is a dissection of the various symbols, themes, and motifs of L. Frank Baum's children's novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” as well as Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. As many can agree growing up is a very hard, confusing, stage in anyone's life, especially for females.  Adapting to the transition from girl to women is extremely difficult to take in, let alone understand. The “Elements of Oz” and “Stellalice” do not necessarily re-create the narrative, but merely focus's on significant moments and symbols which apply to the core issue of girls growing up and coming into their own.  The naïve, innocent, focal concept is juxtaposed with contrasting light and raw, yet fierce innuendo.
