BIO/ ANNALISE FREYTAG
Chicago Transplant : Michigan Made
Bachelors of Fine Arts with and emphasis in Photography and Intermedia from the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University.
Freytag's conceptual work focuses on issues of female identity from child to woman; primarily the physical and emotional changes within her own life. She has used childhood narratives, symbols, motifs and ideas to create images of innocence turned raw. Freytag works in digital and the traditional black and white process as well as video and alternative processes. She enjoys the idea of being very hands-on with her work, letting the process become her staple, her fingerprint.
